SJP Attends and Presents at Society of Social Work and Research Conference 01.14.26

In January, Zina Charles, SJP's social worker, attended and presented at the Society of Social Work and Research Annual Conference. This year's theme was "Leading for Transformative Change: Aligning Social Work Science with Policy and Practice." Zina presented in a roundtable session with colleagues from across the discipline, including Karen Kolivoski, Sara Goodkind, Kathi Elliott, and Fadumo Abdi. The session centered on advocating for Black girls in juvenile justice reform and aimed to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice. Zina shared her experiences working with SJP's clients and discussed the impact of the system and policies on Black girls.
